Could someone please tell me how to get the J. Peterman Catalog. I know he has a website but I have been trying for days to get on it and can't. Thanks!

I believe the company has gone "belly up" so I think that your chances of getting a catalog are pretty much slim at best. I do not know if they are still operating at all or if they are completely defunct as of now.

Regards,
Peter

The last report was that J. Peterman was filing for bankruptcy, but the business is still operational. If you can't access www.jpeterman.com, try calling the J. Peterman catalog order number at 800-231-7341 (7 a.m. to 2 a.m. Eastern Time weekdays and weekends). I'm sure they can help you. Good luck!!!

It's official, as of this week:
Paul Harris Stores has announced that it has closed the deal on the acquisition of The J. Peterman Company. Paul Harris will close the current J. Peterman Company headquarters in Lexington, Kentucky as well as three of J. Peterman's thirteen stores: Las Vegas, Nevada; Woodbury, New York and San Francisco, California. The stores are being closed because they are unprofitable.

Paul Harris Stores, Inc., a specialty retailer known for its branded private label women's casual wear, sells moderately priced sportswear and accessories. The company currently operates 304 stores located in 29 states.

I was in Seattle last week and purchased several items at the J. Peterman store near Seattle Center. There was no sign of the store closing. Please call the 800 # for help.

I watched an episode of the Leeza show and it mentioned about the J. Peterman Catalog selling Titanic items. I just tried accessing the web site and calling the 800 number but was told that the 800 number was disconnected with no further information available.

I would still like a catalog if there is anyway possible.

a new catalog exists - I saw it with my own eyes in a house on Cape Cod last weekend! how I can have one of my own , I don't know. Rockland County could use more J. Peterman and less MALL. Much less.

I have a J Peterman catalog with almost all of the Titanic items pictured. Only one, let me know if anyone is interested!

According to Time Magazine, August 20 issue (page Y3), J. Peterman has bought back his name from the now belly-up Paul Harris Stores and is sending a catalog to a select list of his original customers. No address, phone number or website is given. Anyone with info, please pass it along. Meanwhile: Way to go Peterman! Your idea is way too fine to keep do

I was thrilled to see the J. Peterman web site. I was cleaning out my desk last week and found my "Owners Manual No. 26 from 1993. "They" destroyed Banana Republic and I never really got over it, I'm so glad to see Peterman rise from the ashes.

Hurray, I found you! I am almost ready to book a flight to Seattle to see your store, but in the meantime, I'll settle for a catalogue.

-- Kay A. Orr (orrbk@aol.com), December 01, 2002.

The online catalog has always been available: http://www.jpeterman.com

-- B Brooks (bjbrooks@mail.com), December 10, 2002.

I would love to get a catalog, even if it is one from the defunct company. Sincerely, Harry Ellen

I really hope that they are back! I am still getting compliments on the wardrobe I ordered years ago. No one did it like J.Peterman. I saved all my catalogs.

I just love the backless Tuxedo shirt. I wear it to any formal occasion I go to, and sometimes to the grocery store when I just want to feel "naughty". It is soooooo sexy!

-- Ben Horvat (bhorvat@irell.com), December 16, 2003.

As i strolled through the informal ads of the highbrow magizines,of a place cold by the to the touch. I yerned for the simple but ellegant eye catching ads of a simplier time. As if by some unknown means, like a diamond striking me in my head, I found my holy grail, my mecca of affordable but classy sense of taste. I found my J.Peterman....

P.S. sorry for the spelling

IREALLY miss your reckless wide legged pants!!!! And is there a way I can replace my little Brass oil can??? I left it at the barn where I keep my Paso Fno horses, and it magically disappeared. It is maybe two inched tall, from India. It has kind of a long snout, and I dearly miss it!!!! Suezenne HELP HELP HELP!!!

-- Suezenne Fordham-grants (suezennefg@hotmail.com), January 03, 2004.

Icalled the 800 #'s. first one discontinued, second one unclear voice mail and hang-up.

If we can't get a catologe how does peterman expect to stay in business - does he want to go bankrupted again - hope not this note is from someone in his native Rockland County.

-- TONYA JAN MARINARO (BOPPAJANE@AOL.COM), April 02, 2004.

Like everyone on that ad I want a J Peterman catalogue to study for an advertising class. I would be happy to buy your old ones if you have them and would settle for photocopies

-- Sarab Sarong (sudubsaarung@yahoo.com), June 26, 2004.

Actually, although John Peterman is back, the creative genius who wrote every single line of that brilliant copy and was responsible for its great eccentric romancti goods is no longer with the ocmpany-- crushed out when it went bankrupt. AB
