INDIANA ROLL CALL

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

I've been seeing lots of posts lately with references to Indiana. Being a Hoosier myself, I'm curious as to how many Hoosier Yourdonites are here. Please answer the roll call..you may find a neighbor!

Dinty Moore: I've been chasin' you around for a few days, but can't catch you. Care to give us a general location?

Perlie Sweetcake: You posted that you are near Louisville-probably in Jeff (I have family there)Clarksville or New Albany.

Margie Mason: Floyds Knobs. (She's your neighbor, Perlie.)

Tim: Are you in the Nebraska that's near Butlerville? If so, you are my neighbor.

Any others out there?

Any relation to the Indian Love Call (Nelson Eddy and Jeanette McDonald)?

-- me (x@y.com), March 06, 1999.

I live less than 10 miles south of Indiana state line.

-- Kevin (mixesmusic@worldnet.att.net), March 06, 1999.

In Florida now but hopefully in northern Indiana by April. North of Indy and south of South Bend.

Cool thread!!! I think it's pretty peaceful around here. I think I'm pretty far up enough in the hills to at least see it coming. Kevin? You're pretty much in the thick of things, aren't you? Pearlie, too. Are you guys comfortable if TSHTF?

-- margie mason (mar3mike@aol.com), March 06, 1999.

Approx. 5 miles south of IN-MI line. The home of the Fighting Irish ;)

Blessings...Mercy

Wow,

I miss this forum. Columbus, Indiana checks in and says hello. I have been gone for about two weeks and can't believe number of new posters. I won't even try to get caught up.

Nice to meet you Eye ...Where you from? Are you prepared? E-mail me if you like.

May GODS Will Be Done,

Mike

Margie,

Yes, I would kind of be in the thick of things if TSHTF. This area though has never had a 1960's style "riot".

It would be nice to live in Coryden or English if things were worse than an 8.0. Nice farmland and they're not downwind from any of Louisville's chemical plants.

-- Moore Dinty moore (not@thistime.com), March 07, 1999.

Tess,

OOPS! Yes, you are from north west..I just reread thread I printed off!! HMMMMMMMMMMM......????????

Tim, There is really a Nebraska here??? Thought you were joking.

All, I think I hit all of your areas traveling at some time or other..except Nebbie! Did any one else get a return Letter from Lugar this week????

Are we worried about Ill being close and a nuke state????

-- Moore Dinty moore (not@thistime.com), March 07, 1999.

I live in Jeffersonville, and yes, it does concern me. I have decided if things get so bad that only people in rural locations can survive, I might as well say adios anyway.

Hello Hoosiers, and thanks for the great response!

Sue: We'll keep a light on fer ya!

Kevin: Near Chicago? Ohhhh my.

Margie: Same here.I feel pretty secure. 16 wooded hilltop acres overlooking a very small town...house invisible. ELECTRIC gates! HA!

flierdude: You have spoken to my son. I'm in the small town south of him.

Dinty: Yea, saw it. Cute.

Everyone please keep posting here and let's keep each other informed. I'm going to a bingo game today and taking lots of info for some of my friends there. They don't know much of anything about y2k. This should be good! (:-

Eye,

Not Chicago. Kentuckiana.

Great links Kevin! Thanks!

Have to run all, off to a y2k task force meeting. Will let you know what happens. Taking tons of good info. Thanks to all who help keep the good links going!

Well, I had a good day all around at bingo. I left in a big hurry and forgot the info pkg. I had put together for the ladies. So brave soul that I am I just sat down and started talking. Now these gals are in their late 70's to early 80's, so I was prepared to get stonewalled. Not the case, at all. They were extremely interested in everything I had to say and said they were going to start preparing right away. And they told me to please bring all the info to them because they wanted to read it. Said they wanted more information than they had been getting. Bless their hearts! Amazing how the older generation seems to get it so quickly. My parents are in their 80's and they got it right away. I think it's because they lived through the depression and World War 11 (The big one, as Archie Bunker used to say.)and they realize how quickly things can fall apart. So that is 3 families who will not be doing without if TSHTF. And then I won some money, which made the day complete. (:-

Hi Eye, Sounds like you had a great day!! I agree the depression generation seems to get it very quick when they are present with facts and not spin! Keep up the good work! Every person prepared is one we won't lose hopefully!!

Meeting went great. We are gathering alot of info on our local plus Indiana state info. May have news forthcoming on Indiana's position. We had great people at the meeting. Very intelligent and definately GI's. I was highly impressed. Keep buying rice and beans!:>

Sorry I caught this thread late. I'm in Jackson County. Glad to see others in IN.

Flierdude, I work in Columbus.

-- Cowardly Lion (cl0001@hotmail.com), March 08, 1999.

Hello Cowardly Lion, Please tell us how your meeting went Saturday. One of us had planned to attend, but couldn't get our schedules cleared. I am in Jennings Coounty. (Can't remember if I told you)

-- Eye On Y2K (bugscaresme@mellinium.com), March 08, 1999.

Went ok, had about a dozen GI's there. We all had about the same perception of the problem.

Still in the forming stage, but at least we've all agreed on the necessity and are scheduling future meetings.

I *did* miss you, or at least your son? (If that makes sense to you, you know what I mean).

Thanx for checking.

-- Cowardly Lion (cl0001@hotmail.com), March 08, 1999.

Well, sure nice to meet some of my new "neighbors". There was a gun/y2k prep show posted on another board for Mar.19-21, with a "munch" to meet other people and talk on the 20th. This is in Indy. I won't make this one but hope to make the next one and maybe meet some of you folks.

Dinty you're about 100+ miles from me and Goshen is practically in my back yard (relatively speaking anyway).I'll be about midway(east to west) and yes, the nuke problem or fallout range is probably the biggest worry here, but you can only worry about so much!

Got bomb shelters?

-- Sue (deco100@aol.com), March 09, 1999.

Hi guys,

Pearlie, Flierdude...went thru your territory today...:> Had to go to Jeffersonville...we had more snow than you guys did last night.!! Sue-no bombshelter:< Don't think my root cellar will help either!:<

Anybody know anything about Scotsdale utilities???

-- Moore Dinty moore (not@thistime.com), March 09, 1999.

Somebody sent me e-mail saying they still weren't sure where I live.

Jefferson County, Kentucky. That's makes me, Pearlie Sweetcake and Margie Mason all residents of "Kentuckiana," as it's known locally.

-- Kevin (mixesmusic@worldnet.att.net), March 10, 1999.

Thanks, Kevin. That would be me :)

Blessings...Mercy

Hoffmiester,

Jewelry , diamonds or politics maybe????

-- Moore Dinty moore (not@thistime.com), March 12, 1999.

If anyone is having a community preparedness meeeting this week-end, please keep us updated on your agenda. This will help jump start other counties and/or cities when, and IF, they ever wake up! Every day that goes by is just one less day available to organize and help people prepare. Sheesh!

-- Eye OnY2K (bugscaresme@mellinium.com), March 12, 1999.

Dinty:

Sorry, no. Most are Mennonite, low profile types. Do have an uncle that, if you're from Goshen, you'd probably recognize the name.

-- Hoffmeister (hoff_meister@my-dejanews.com), March 12, 1999.

Eye,

Meeting this weekend again. Will keep you informed. It is for our church but has alot to do with our community. May have some other info for you all..have to ask if I can post it.

Hoff, Just curious...:> Had to ask!:>

Tess, Where are you??
