FWIW, the author of that site, Robert Waldrop, is currently working on (among other things) ways to keep city folks who fall into the category of 'working poor' alive and sane through the dislocations following the rollover. He sometimes posts to another list that I'm on, and while his politics are somewhat to the left of my own, I must say that I respect him and his attempts to insure that the poor and homeless folks with whom he works as a volunteer will have a chance to do something besides freeze in the Kansas City cold.

just my 2 cents' worth on that one, Arlin

Didn't we see various pieces of this work posted here back around Christmas? Seems that he has expanded and revised it. Not bad, if a little naive about the willingness of people to cooperate in a y2k 8- 10-level event. But then I thought Double-Ought went too far in the other direction, too.
