Pixels, dots and stuff

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Imaging Resource Discussion : One Thread

I have been using a digicam for about 6 months and have been reading various discussion group comments about PPI, DPI, printer resolution, screen resolution, compression, lossy, etc. Just when I think I've got it all straight, I lose it. Is there a well written piece on all this that clearly describes all of it. That way I can tack it up on my wall and stare at it whenever I lose it??? Thanks.

Here is a link that will help answer your question. It is to New York Institute of Digital Photography. Go to the bottom of the page to take the whole lesson from the start or just look at the chapter headings to find the one that discusses pixels and resolution. Hope this helps.
