Please, just a little more data from NERC

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Electric Utilities and Y2K : One Thread

I applaud NERC for making their database spreadsheets available on the internet. I wish more collectors of Y2K data within the Electric Utility industry would follow suit.

The "Company Number" on the db portion of the NERC spreadsheets (see ftp://ftp.nerc.com/pub/sys/all_updl/docs/y2k/ and click on Janurary1999.xls then click on the db spreadsheet) effectively hides the identity of the participants.

Is there any possibility of having NERC post the data in 2c for each company on this spreadsheet(System Peakload and Capacity for NonNuclear and Nuclear)?

With this little bit of additional information (still not mentioning company names) viewers could assess the potential power loss that the least ready (weakest) companies might introduce to the grid.

It would also be helpful to know a guestimate of power loss that would be a serious threat to the grid. In this manner it should be possible to determine if the three weakest companies could do us in or would it take the thirty weakest? It seems to me that knowing this would be a lot more helpful than NERC's report of 55% average readiness so far.
