ATM's across Alaska on the "Fritz" : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

Alaska Public Radio reported this morning that ATM machines throughout the state have been plagued with intermittent disruptions since Saturday. Machines experiencing problems belong to the "Alaska Option" network which extends as far south as Seattle, maybe further. Radio stated that the servicing contractor placed the blame on newly replaced software. A trip to the bank at lunch confirmed the above, with a "down for maintenance" sign posted and two out of town repairmen pulling their hair out. These repairmen traveled over 500 miles to our remote location. I doubt it will be their last trip!

Was this just routine replacement of software or was it a Y2K problem? Probably just what they said it was. Relacement or upgrading of software!

This year, this time of year - it was most likely exactly what they said it was - upgrading software - because they had to replace it due to what they didn't say - Y2K.

snowleopard6; You think your ATM's will be a hardship for repairman, what about Alaska's H.A.A.R.P I'd like to be there to see their screens go down and not be able to watch the "objects" come in view. Maybe we will get some regular weather down in the state's ??? Fuire...
