Epson Photo PC 750 Z -any recent reviews?-evaluate image enhancement technoloy.

I am interested in the new Epson 750 Z camera, but I have not been able to find any impartial reviews. Epson claimes the imaage enhancement technology can boost the resolution to 1600 x1200. Will this result in distorted prints, say on an 8 x 10 print? Thank y

For a look at similar image-enhancement technology, check out our review & sample pics from the Agfa ePhoto 1680. We haven't checked-out the Epson 750Z yet, but are continuing to work on Epson to try to get them to join the club...

The HyPict mode is somewhat different than what AGFA uses. They use a software enhancement in the computer.. the Epson does it in the camera before the image is compressed. After interpolating.. then the camera does a JPEG compression. Images look excellent! Only fault with the Epson is no non-jpg compressed files.. aka no raw, no tiff, that sort. Epson was kind enough to tell me the compressions they use: The compression ratios for the PhotoPC 750Z are as follows:

*(640X480) = 13.1 **(1280X960) = 16.75 ***(1280X960) = 8.38 ***H(1600X1200) = 11.52

so.. there you have it. Rob
