I think since we all are interested in 2YK. A chat room would be better so we can just throw things out that comes to mind. I think of a lot of things, To say, But Alas my memory is overloaded these days.

I'M ready to accept your ideas.

Buy the way, whenever I go off for a while it takes me hours to get back online because lines are busy.Tried from 7.30 to 12: am last nite.

You might consider getting a real ISP instead of AOL, then you won't run into that busy signal thing.

Y'know what ticks me off? Why's it always "someone should do [fill in the blank]"? If your idea is great, then perhaps you should give it a whirl.

There are plenty of chat services you can utilize for this purpose. Set something up. No time like the present.

You might also wish to note that there are already several chat groups; the best of the lot being at http://www.y2ktoday.com (if you can get in...they seem to reach capacity very quickly in the evening).

we should all use NetMeeting...it works well with or without a camera for conferencing and can be used with or without a microphone as well. These fancy tools of the communications world won't be available much longer so we should use them while we can...

Lon, let's do IRC, also known as mIRC or pIRCh or for Macs, IRCle.
We call it IRK!
Anyway, it's real-time fun, easy to use, read, do. If I can do it, anyone can. Somebody computer-savvy could set up a channel
#yourdonforum

Easy, just create some bots & a moderator. Have friends who run a channel and they're not geniuses, just nice folks.

It's a great idea .. yet not well embraced for some reason. I've had a chat room set up on one of the better IRC systems for nearly two years. Several months ago, someone here suggested it would be nice to carry on live dialog. I offered the chat room for use. No takers. Maybe the timing was wasn't right.

In any event .. the offer is still open if there is sufficient interest.

Dan, what's your channel & server? I'm set up on EFNet, and might be able to reconfigure if you detail the instructions in Very Simple Dummie language. Thanks!

try Life-y2k under member chats on AOL. maybe if we get some serious talkers on there we will be able to get rid of some of the trouble makers! (DGI's)

since I can't "talk" but have to go to this kind(type in) with my computer it's about the best that I know about.

Dan has a great room, folks! Went there last night & chatted. Peaceful, no crowds, easy. Dan, fill everybody in, give the simple instructions :-)
