Tom- Well, you can get most of what you're looking for, only not for under $400. If you can only use a camera that writes directly to a floppy, then Sony's the only game in town. Their most recent models go as high as 1280x960 interpolated resolution, but that level of resolution will cost you $900+. They now have a few models that will do 1024x768, but those are also relatively expensive, at ~$600. We unfortunately don't have any reviews on the Sony cameras here, as we haven't yet convinced Sony to "join the club." Wish us luck, I think we're getting close.

If you can accept the need to install driver software, any of the "SmartMedia" based cameras (Olympus, Toshiba, Fuji) will work with the "FlashPath" floppy-disk adapter. This gadget accepts a SmartMedia card in its side, then plugs into a standard floppy drive, effectively giving you a 4, 8, or 16 megabyte floppy disk. It does require that you install (minimal) driver software to operate it.

Hope this helps!
