Kurzweil CD-Rom Burning

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Kurzweil Users : One Thread

This isn't a question, but a statement. Here's how you make a Kurzweil CD-Rom with a PC running Windows:

Download Kcdmaker from this site:

http://www.crpcu.lu/~perbal/Music/Kurzweil/K2000.html

Now download CDRwin from this site:

http://www.goldenhawk.com/

Now create a normal text file for CDRwin with these statements:

FILE D:\TEMP\K2500-1.TRK BINARY TRACK 1 MODE1/2048 INDEX 01 00:00:00 POSTGAP 00:02:00

Now, this assumes the file you've made with Kcdmaker is called "K2500-1.trk." It also assumes the file is on the "D:\temp" directory on your hard drive. You'll need to change these to reflect whatever you've called the file and where on your hard drive it's stored. You'll also need to tell CDRwin what this file is called. See the built-in help file for CDRwin for more info. Why go to all this effort? The program most people recommend to do this is no longer available from Adaptec (Easy CD Pro). Using these shareware/freeware programs you'll be able to make a CD succesfully. From what I've read, the new OS's coming from Kurzweil for the K series will no longer require this procedure. They will natively support the ISO9660 format, which most CD writers can make. But, until then...this should help.

Oops, that text file should have read as such:

FILE D:\TEMP\K2500-1.TRK BINARY TRACK 1 MODE1/2048 INDEX 01 00:00:00 POSTGAP 00:02:00
