The day the report was released (3/2/99), Senator Bennett soft-pedaled the Committees investigation by announcing that Y2k would be a bump in the road. However, two days prior, Bennett had stated on national television that "those who suggest that it will be nothing more than a 'bump in the road' are simply misinformed."
