We are all doomed. Y2k will bring America to her knees.

We are all doomed. Y2k will be the straw that breaks the camel's back of our nation. We have been going downhill for quite some time and this is it. With the chaos disorder that sweep across our nation as a result of infrastructure breakdowns I expect America to lose what little semblemce of order that she has left. Massive food riots and millions dead of starvation will bring this country to her knees. Our cities will be burned out, smoking shells of buildings resembling downtown Sarajevo. Take a good look around you and look at all of the tempers and anger that are barely kept in check today like roadrage with plentiful food and infrasturcture. Now take away the food and infrasturcute and you've got Civil War II. Ever seen the movie 'BLADE RUNNER'? Our cities will resemble that without all the high-technology. Gotta run and gets me some more ammo.....

Calm down kid, bladerunner cities without the technology would be abandoned...that was the whole point.

Don't be in such a hurry to die.

We are only doomed if we choose to be so. We are not, individually, like lemmings. The choice is yours, Blade Runner. I choose hot showers and a full plate.

It's true that the vast majority of Americans, including myself, have never seen truly hard times. Most of the WW2 survivors are gone now. But I suspect we are about to get a very good lesson in the value of patience, attention span and perseverance. And it could be a very painful lesson.

Go back and read TTF's posts for a while. I suspect he truly has already seen a very personal TEOTWAWKI - he understands that it could happen again. He seems to face it as just one more possibility. I could be wrong...

But I do know that you don't live life by granting other people life and death power over you. You cannot possibly respect any human that seeks to have the power of life and death over you.

Mom always said that politeness and common courtesy should be freely extended to all but that respect is something that must be earned. It is not given to people because of their title, their last name, or their position in the church, business or government. Neither should respect ever be based on the amount of money in a person's bank account.

You see, even the best cage does not sustain life, just biological function. When others try to convince you that it's your time to die or live in cage, maybe you should beg to differ.

Am I doomed? Hardly. Well, I guess the truth is, I doubt I'll make it past my 150th birthday but that's not going to stop me from checking out early. I happen to think I can get through this, even if it is particularly nasty -- uh, that is if I prepare as best I can ahead of time. Am I right? Guess we'll have to wait and see.

I would much rather feed my neighbors than shoot them. Maybe you could put away a meal or two for your neighbors as well. If you don't need to feed them, at least you'll know your heart was in the right place.

And no, I can't save the whole world by myself. But maybe, just maybe, I can save one neighbor and his or her family. Don't get me wrong, my family is my first priority and I will do whatever it takes to protect them. But if I, at the same time, can help my community, then I'd be fool not to.

Yes, I do take this a bit personal -- my own father died 25 years before he stopped breathing. The time that he wasted being 'doomed' was just an excuse to not live. I do not intend to repeat his mistake. Neither should you. We should attempt to live.

And should we die during the attempt, we will not have wasted one moment dying before it was time to...

These kinds of new threads are getting a little old. We never had any like this until a week or so ago, but now there have been several in just the last few days.

Someone is out to make us look like extremists. The "Civil War II" reference is a good clue to who's doing it...

Um, I wonder who it could be Kevin??????? Do you thin Shittum's shitting with us again.

Or could it be Slimfast, the diet freak, Dieter???????

OR maybe Stamped Addressed Envelope - AES???????

Or Freeman. Or Jerry. Or Jimmy Bagga Gonads.

There are so many. Karma will have a whale of a time with pay-back...

Anyone who places his/her faith in the Lord Jesus Christ is not doomed. Certainly there will be hard times ahead, but if you know your Saviour, then you won't be afraid. :)
