EOS-1n or EOS-3 and Quantum Z flash system

Was wondering if the new EOS-3 worked with E-TTL with the Quantum Z flash system? What about the EOS-1n? Will that work with the Quantum Z with it's A-TTL system? Like for selecting the focus point and having the flash expose off that point?

Thanks.

Scott, according to Canon, E-TTL will only work with E-TTL compatible bodies and flashes. The bodies and flashes can be interchanged but you won't get E-TTL unless both the body and the flash are capable of it. eg - A new Canon EOS 3 can work with a 540ez flash, but you won't have E-TTL until you put on a 550ex or 380ex flash which is E-TTL capable, but if you put a 550ex flash on an A2 body, you won't have E-TTL but it will still work in A-TTL. The EOS 1n is not an E-TTL body. So, to the best of my knowledge (haha), you will not gain E-TTL when using a Quantum flash system, you must use the Canon "ex" series speedlights. Hope this helps.
