Did anyone watch Storm of the Century last night?

Early in the show, there was a scene of an elderly lady watching the TV as the talking heads hyped the coming storm. The lady says to herself, "when they tell you the end of the world is coming, it's nothing to worry about. When they tell you not to panic, it's time to panic" (that may not be exactly right, but you get the idea). Sigh... at this point it's hard not to relate most of what I hear to y2k.....

I caught that too! Visions of Y2K and disinformation danced in my head.

Yes I saw it and yes I thought of current Y2k public statements. I also noted the scene at the grocery and the behavior of the local folks. If you take King's necessary vampire out of the equation it is a good y2k primer. Part 2 tonite.....

Is anyone taping that? If it's by King, I wanna see it..

..And by the time it's released in Australia, y2k will have stopped my TV from working, taken the TV stations off the air, probably killed enough station technical staff to make them irrelevant anyway, AND probably left me without enough time to watch the show.
