Negative Carrier

I had what appears to be a very old enlarger given to me but it is missing the negative carrier. The plate on the enlarger has the following information : Opemus 6X6 ; me opta ; typ 74204 ; No 56290 Made in Czecholslovakia It has a 75mm F4.5 lens that has Meopta Belar on it. I would like to find a 120 negative carrier. I bought a used enlarger about 10 years ago that is a 35mm version of the same unit. I have never heard of this brand but my 35mm seems to work OK. Was this a popular enlarger years ago? Thanks for any help.

The Opemus 6 can still be bought new, at least in Europe. In Sweden it can be bought from Scandinavian Photo (www.scandinavianphoto.se). Perhaps you can e-mail them ('info@scandinavianphoto.se')about a replacement for your negative carrier. Good luck.

Freestyle carries the Meopta enlargers.

I have this problem also, I just received an enlarger from my highschool teacher and it is missing a negative carrier and a color head filter conpartment cover making a large beam of light come out of it. My teacher has told me to make a negative carrier out of cardboard, it is very cheap and it really works!(surprisingly) Although light is still streaming from my color head filter compartment I will tape it closed untill i can buy something for it. Just try the cardboard negative carrier it can't hurt! I hope that I have helped! Cassy
