Seriously, the local San Francisco KGO-TV ABC Channel 7 station did an 11:00 news special blip on Y2K over a week ago, about the Seattle Year 2000 Expo. Focus was on the survivalists, gold dealers and a composting toilet.

The same TV crew came last weekend to the Oakland Y2K Around The Bay gathering, and interviewed State Senator John Vasconcellos who spoke to the group. This weeks Y2K news expose, was entirely different. When asked by KGO-TV where he thought the State of California's Y2K readiness fell out, on a scale of one to 10, Vasconcellos said "An 8." KGO very seriously took a look at Sacramento, told people to start getting Y2K ready and said they'd follow up on the story. I'd say the reporters "got it."

Thanks for the update, Diane. I think this is what is neded, a few more of our leaders speaking out, and shocking a few more reporters. IMHO, the more GIs that can be found, the better for all of us. <:)=
