Rapture of the Church

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

Have any of you christians out there ever speculated that the Rapture could take place during a time when the world's infrasture would be near immobilized? Think about it. What if under it occurred under present conditions? What effect would the sudden mass disapperance around the globe have on the world's infrastructure? Still no one knows the hour or the day, and one must be prepared for it at any moment.

Captain Ron, you are correct in your assumptions but consider this. If the Rapture occurs during the period of greatest infrastructure confusion, who of us left here would know? All telecom would be out and Dan R. wouldn't be able to inform us. Really now! If the media couldn't tell us, how would we poor unwashed masses know what to think? Keep the faith, Brother. The Day will come.

actually the term rapture of the church is a misnomer. the correct term is translation of the infants and children. over one billion infants and children will be removed by a translation mechanisim. (mc2=e) all little ones will avoid the judgment. suffer the little children to come unto me for as such is the kingdom of heaven. the few christians will not be missed. rachel will weep for her children for they were taken. may 4, 1999 annan and arafat will declare palestinian statehood and claim old jerusalem as the capital including the temple site. be alert

Tom,

Rachel has already weeped for her children...this was fullfilled when Herod murdered the children in Bethlehem in an attempt to kill Jesus.

The Rapture is a false hope! We are told in the Scritures to prepare for the battle not try to escape. (Ezek 13:5 KJV) "Ye have not gone up into the gaps, neither made up the hedge for the house of Israel to stand in the battle in the day of the LORD."

(Ezek 13:6 KJV) "They have seen vanity and lying divination, saying, The LORD saith: and the LORD hath not sent them: and they have made others to hope that they would confirm the word."

The "lying divination" that preachers are putting forth is the False Hope of the Rapture. Just a quick study will tell you it is a goofy idea. Part of the theory is the Jews will evangelize the world after the Christians are raptured and the Holy Spirit is taken away. How can God be taken away? If the Holy Spirit is taken away how could Jews be converted? If the Jews are Converted prior to the so-called rapture, why are they not taken with the rest of the Christians? The theory fails.

There is material available which would help you to understand this event.

Greetings Captain Ron and Lobo.

If the rapture happens in the middle of great y2k upheaval, those left behind will face the awful truth of knowing they missed it. Imagine the chaos of family members who can no longer find their loved ones. My heart goes out to the millions of lost souls who will then be get its. Preparation is wise, but the blessed hope is our only hope. As for those anti-rapture folks, you've got to rightly divide the truth to get it in a dispensationsal perspective. Look at the Song of Solomon, it is a picture of Christ coming for his bride. Also check out a 1 Thess 4:16. Did you ever wander why the first 3 chapters of Revelation are dedicated to the churches and how after that the church isn't mentioned? That's because the bride is gone. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.

-- Trafficjam, If you study Revelations from a historical point of view then it starts to make sense. "things which must shortly come to pass; and he sent and signified it by his angel unto his servant John:" This was an indication that what is written in Revelation would start to happen and the History of Israel is described in cryptic detail. It is all about Israel, not Judah or the Jews but the Northern Kingdom of Israel. Read the following and find out who the Bride is.

(Rev 21:9 KJV) "And there came unto me one of the seven angels which had the seven vials full of the seven last plagues, and talked with me, saying, Come hither, I will show thee the bride, the Lamb's wife."

(Rev 21:10 KJV) "And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and showed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God,"

(Rev 21:11 KJV) "Having the glory of God: and her light was like unto a stone most precious, even like a jasper stone, clear as crystal;"

(Rev 21:12 KJV) "And had a wall great and high, and had twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels, and names written thereon, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel:"

Did Jesus come to redeem the world or did he come to Redeem Israel? (Psa 130:8 KJV) "And he shall redeem Israel from all his iniquities."

(Luke 24:21 KJV) "But we trusted that it had been he which should have redeemed Israel: and beside all this, to day is the third day since these things were done."

Later it was stated that the Gentile Nations benefited from this redemption...(Rom 11:7 KJV) "What then? Israel hath not obtained that which he seeketh for; but the election hath obtained it, and the rest were blinded"

(Rom 11:8 KJV) "(According as it is written, God hath given them the spirit of slumber, eyes that they should not see, and ears that they should not hear;) unto this day."

(Rom 11:11 KJV) "I say then, Have they stumbled that they should fall? God forbid: but rather through their fall salvation is come unto the Gentiles, for to provoke them to jealousy."

(Eph 2:12 KJV) "That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world:"

To whom it may concern, I will give you the information and you make your own decision. I would like to help you in any way I can so here is your answer:There is mention in danial, the gospels and revelation of an anti-christ who will come. In revelation there is mention of"no man will be able to buy or sell without the mark of the beast". What is this all about? Have any of you ever looked at that abstraction and wondered? In veterinarian institutions there are micro chips being inserted under animals skin at present to keep data on the animal..when it was in last , problems and even billing. The book of revelation talks about how this mark on the head or arm will cause festering sores..ie ok where am I going? Next, how in the world would we as a ":christian nation" ever accept a mark or code inbedded in our heads or arms knowing this? It would have to be forced on us by war..that won't happen. Or a world monetary economic collapse could force the issue making anyone who is against the concept unacceptable. We all woner what this Y2 k thing is going to bring. What does the word tribulation in websters bring out? Read mathew chapter 24 & mark 13. Each of these talk about the tribulation to come. At the end of each Jesus seems to deviate to "the fig tree" the fig tree is known in theology for a figure of speech refering to the nation of israel. And these chapters state, " that generation ( the one that brings in the country of Israel (C.1948)will not pass away until ALL these things come to pass. what things? Tribulation or "the distress of those days" After this it talks about when Jesus will come back. This is not a modern day christians wish list this was Gods idea spoken by Jesus. Do I believe that God would warn us of things to come? God characterizes love and if I did not want my kids run over by a car a warning would be consistent. The warnings are out there, read between the lines; if you are warned and you don't take the warning you alone lose. Read mathew 24 & mark 13. Good luck for the times to come, GRH

Congradulations, you have been baited by the troll, Captain Ron.

-- KoFE (boy,youjumped@itthat.time),

You work for the United Nations? If you knew anything you would find a cave to hide in but that would do you no good...(Rev 6:15 KJV) "And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains;"

(Rev 6:16-17 KJV) "And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb: For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?"

"Congradulations, you have been baited by the troll, Captain Ron."

Maybe congratulations, I don't know what would happen if I was congradulated.

Know where trolls live? Under bridges and "chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment;"

Make me laugh!

After the dark then...The Morning Star...(Rev 22:16 KJV) "I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star."

God bless you "my child". Dripping with Honey.

It is easier to convert a pagan than a "religious" person.

(2 Tim 2:7 KJV) "Consider what I say; and the Lord give thee understanding in all things."

(2 Tim 2:8 KJV) "Remember that Jesus Christ of the seed of David was raised from the dead according to my gospel:"

Cap'n Ron,

Jesus is after you and you are not as bad as the Apostle Paul (Saul) who loved to kill Christians...(Acts 9:8 KJV) "And Saul arose from the earth; and when his eyes were opened, he saw no man: but they led him by the hand, and brought him into Damascus."

(Acts 9:9 KJV) "And he was three days without sight, and neither did eat nor drink."

(Acts 9:10 KJV) "And there was a certain disciple at Damascus, named Ananias; and to him said the Lord in a vision, Ananias. And he said, Behold, I am here, Lord."

(Acts 9:11 KJV) "And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the street which is called Straight, and inquire in the house of Judas for one called Saul, of Tarsus: for, behold, he prayeth,"

(Acts 9:12 KJV) "And hath seen in a vision a man named Ananias coming in, and putting his hand on him, that he might receive his sight."

(Acts 9:13 KJV) "Then Ananias answered, Lord, I have heard by many of this man, how much evil he hath done to thy saints at Jerusalem:"

(Acts 9:14 KJV) "And here he hath authority from the chief priests to bind all that call on thy name."

(Acts 9:15 KJV) "But the Lord said unto him, Go thy way: for he is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel:"

(Acts 9:16 KJV) "For I will show him how great things he must suffer for my name's sake."

Could you be next? One called by Jesus?

Hold unto your hat(e), or better yet take it off and humble yourself.
