If This Forum Crashes, Reconvene at Usenet

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

Pursuant to last week's poll, the suggestion is that this forum reconvene at Usenet in the event this forum crashes.

I have this URL http://www.dejanews.com/dnquery.xp?search=word&svcclass=dncurrent&showsort=date&ST=QS&query=~g%20comp.software.year-2000

I have never posted to USENET. The Dejanews site appears to require registration with actual e-mail address. Can that be sidestepped or am I going to have to reveal my shocking true identity?

Also, for all you new polly/trolls we've already had the cute posts about the ironic possibility of a y2k NG crashing, so save your tap tap tapping.

Finally, if someone has an argument that there is a better back-up site, lay it on me.

And final finally, as the week draws to a close, I'd like to say that its been another successful week of reading, writing and whacky 'rithmetic. As I read my gibberish and much of the rest of it (that's right, including that stuff you wrote), I'm reminded of the old adage "Frequently wrong, but never in doubt." Rest up and gather your thoughts for next week so when the time comes, you'll be RREEEAAADDDYYY TOOOO RRRRRUUUUMMMMBBBBBUUUUUULLLLLLL! 73's
