Marbles Everywhere!!

Someone said to gain an understanding of the complexity of Y2K, consider that the Grand Canyon is filled with marbles and that they all have to be polished. I would like to expand on that analogy.

Hold the thought of the Grand Canyon filled with marbles. Now consider these marbles in sets of ten. Not only must each marble be polished, but a link must be established from marble number 1 to marble number 2, then to marble number 3 etc. until all marbles are polished and linked together in sets of ten.

Now after each set of ten marbles are polished and linked they must be system tested. Now picture a large number of crystall balls. Let's call these crystall balls interface points.

Let's say for every 500 sets of marbles there must be a crystall ball interface point. These inteface points will be used for internal and external interfaces and for integrated system testing.

Now let's say some of the marble sets are Entreprize Business Systems and some are subcontractors. Let's say some are Government Systems and some are State systems. Let's say some are Infrastructre Systems and some are support sytems. Some sets are this and some are that, and on and on and on.

Now let's say they must all be done before the end of this year.
