greenspun.com : LUSENET : Imaging Resource Discussion : One Thread

I want to purchase a NiMH Battery + 4 Batterys for Olympus Digital Camera. Need one that can be used in Europe (for Vacation) also. Smaller size important and shortest charging time. Please Advise, also where to make best buy. Thanks,

Before they were an advertiser, Thomas Distributing was a supplier we were happy with. They have a variety of chargers. The one I like the best for digicam use is a little one called the MH-C204F. It's not the very speediest, but it works well is fairly inexpensive, and seems to "top-off" the batteries pretty well. For your needs, it could work well in Europe, since it is powered by a little "wall wart" transformer. If you bought a second transformer with the same rating (12 volts at 500 ma), only for 240V current, it should work fine. For more money, the best charger I've found, bar none, is the MAHA-C777 that Thomas sells. It's a bulky beast (not the best for vacation travel), and it has a funky detached temperature sensor that you glom onto the top of the batteries. It charges quite fast though, and the batteries never even get warm! Thomas Dist. can be found at www.thomas-distributing.com. Hope this helps...
