Darkroom in color?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : B&W Photo - Film & Processing : One Thread

Hi. A simple question from a photoclub that is on the edge of war... Well, it is not that serious, but we are going to repaint our darkrom in the near future. And the BIG question is: What color is best suited for darkrooms?

Provoding you have NO LIGHT LEAKS the best colour is white. This will allow good reflection of your safelight when printing. When the light are out as the pop song once said black is black.

Check your enlarger and see if it throws light onto the walls. You might want to consider painting the walls black near the enlarger, and the rest of the room white. Next argument: what type of music to play while printing.

I usually listen to Pink Floyd while I am in the darkroom. It inspires me.
