After reading Arnie's account of his trial weekend I realized most people without small children rpobably don't know about BABY WIPES! I learned while camping that the next best thing to a real shower is a baby wipe bath. I've tried them all and prefer Huggies brand beacuse they are thicker than most.(No, I don't own stock in the company) Sometimes when people recommend specific products I wonder what their motives are.

The one who feeds Charon found this., and it works. Found the recipe for making baby wipes: add 1/2 cup baby oil & 1/2 cup baby shampoo or mild Ivory soap to a gallon of distilled water. Cut a roll of extra-absorbent paper towels in half, remove center cardboard & soak in solution. Then place in containers or zip-lock bags. I did 1/2 roll (cutting it isn't easy), but rolled the towels into smaller rolls to fit into used wipe containers, with a corner to pull out. They're not as sturdy as wipes, so may be better in a flat container rather than a round one. One-half roll used only 1/3 of solution, poured the rest back in the gallon jug for another time. Also read an article that said washing 20 seconds with soap & water removes about 96% of germs, another 1% with anti-bacterial soap. The water free gels are 99.9% effective! They didn't find any difference with anti-bacterial dish soap, compared with plain dish soap.

My daughter recently showed me how BabyWipes will take chocolate stains out of fabric -- even on the good sofa. Wonderful to watch. Sliced bread, make way for the new champ.

Charon: I'm glad someone used my recipe. It's a cheap and inexpensive way to have baby wipes on hand. I use the extra absorpent paper towels, they seem to hold up better.
