Dr. Robert (Bob) Alloway?

Does anyone know if the Dr. Robert Alloway featured in the Fox News series on Y2K is the same Robert Alloway that worked on Rep. Horn's staff? If so, what is his background? I saw him several times on Fox and just recently on the Allen Colmes show. He seemed to be very informed on the Y2K efforts of the federal agencies.

You can find info on him at www.millenniumfactor.com Someone posted info about a documentary or video he did in an earlier thread. You might try e-mailing that person.

I e-mailed Rep. Horn's office last June and suggested that gigabucks in IRS Y2K repairs could be saved by aggressively accelerating the timetable in the Largent bill in "sunsetting" the current IRS code. Dr. Alloway responded for Rep. Horn very pleasantly and noted somewhat resignedly that there was simply not the political will on the Hill or in the Oval Office for such a move, so "we're stuck fixing the code."

Not much background, but here's a very good article on Federal project management, which includes some comments from Dr. Alloway:

Thanks to all for the info. The information about him on the milleniumfactor site is impressive, but I can't find anything online about the Y2K Leadership Taskforce that he is the director of. It does not appear to be a government organization. I wonder if he left Rep. Horn's staff in order to play a role similar to that of Robin Guenier in the U.K.

Dr. Bob Alloway is a former MIT professor. He is perhaps the single most convincing interview that I have ever seen or heard about the dangers of Y2K. He is heavily featured in the documentary that I mentioned earlier, Millennium Factor: The truth about y2k.

I did find their toll free numer too. It's 1-800-559-4488. And their web site has a few articles written by Bob Alloway. It's at: www.millenniumfactor.com

Hope that helps!
