Aladdin Mantles - where to buy them?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

I sent a message to the Aladdin company asking for a physical location of a dealer, but no response to date (two months!). I thought I'd seen someone here mention that they were able to get lamps, parts and mantles at a chain hardware store, but I can't find the thread.

Does anyone know or remember? We have a half dozen regular oil lamps, but our two (precious!) Aladdins are going to need parts. We melted all our plastic purchase cards (now THAT was fun!!!), so I'd rather not buy over the Internet.

As of yesterday, you could still get plenty of 'em at Eagle Hardware mega-chain in the Pacific Northwest.

Arewyn;

Pretty sure it was true value for your area. You may have to go to some of the smaller towns (Madrid, Brasher Falls, Norwood or Norfolk (one of tehm has a hardware store) or Potsdam, etc.).

Always assuming I have the right part of the state for you!!

Ace Hardware carries mantles, wicks, etc. If you have an odd ball wick (like I do), then you can order directly from Aladdin. I would imagine they are quite busy filling orders because there is a big demand now for their lamps.

I e-mailed Aladdin sometime in the past month regarding dealers in my area and they answered the following day. Sounds like your message may have "fallen between the cracks."
