Hi Mike, I don't know if you've found the excellent site hosted by one of your countrymen at:

Nick has a monster collection of Y2K links to articles and information from sources all over the globe, and also many, many links for Australia-specific info. I would recommend his site to anyone, regardless of what country they live in. If anyone has info on the Aussie electric utilities, it will be Nick. However, even he has expressed concerns to me about the difficulty of getting any specifics in that area.
