Birmingham Southern Railroad/Ensley Southern

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Southern Railway : One Thread

This is a two part question. Between 1899 and 1906, the Southern and the L&N co-owned and operated the Birmingham Southern Railroad. The BSRR archives contain no information about the operations of the line during this period of "foreign" ownership. Is there any information available about BSRR operations during this time period?

Also, in 1900 the Southern began constructing a line called the Ensley Southern that ran from Ensley, Alabama to Parrish, Alabama. They sold the line to Warrior River Terminal in 1926 and it was later sold to the Birmingham Southern in 1966. Is there a history of the Ensley Southern available?

Check out the website of Virginia Tech. They have some listings from both of the lines you mentioned and are very helpful with research. Good Luck.
