The Last Super Bowl?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

My bet is on Atlanta. I want to see them win.

Four hours of advertising. There's a football game in there somewhere as well, I've heard. The advertising allows me to call the 4 hours (10am-2pm Monday) work; studying the latest and greatest high-budget ads.

This could be the last one. Twelve months from now, all those people in the stadium could be dead. Starving or sick or perhaps shot. Enjoy! ;)

Leo,

You always have such a frisson about your posts :)

Superb superb Ad - mentions the dreaded words "gobal disruption," it will be interesting to see the reaction of the people in the bar where I'm going to watch the game.

Is airing the 1st qtr, should be the 4th qtr if you think about it, 95% through and then cut off...

Too sophisticated for joe 6 pack I spose (me :) )

Two digits. One mechanism. The smallest mistake.

"The conveniences and comforts of humanity in general will be linked up by one mechanism, which will produce comforts and conveniences beyond human imagination. But the smallest mistake will bring the whole mechanism to a certain collapse. In this way the end of the world will be brought about."

Nah...DENVER!!!

-- Andy (2000EOD@prodigy.net), January 31, 1999.

What, you get to watch it in a bar with people? *DAMN YOU!*

Airs 10am-2pm Monday. 99% of people in Australia don't care about it. Those that do, mostly won't be able to watch it. I'm sitting at home with some fruit (I like weights and building. Girlfriend likes me doing weights and building. Chips and beer are not conducive to weights and building) watching it on TV by myself :(

OTOH, I'm going to win some nice money at the TAB when Atlanta kicks Denver's @$$... ;)

Hey Leo -

I gotta say Denver as that's where I work now - good thing I like skiing!

Later!

Leo that is the sickest thing I've heard in my life. Your prediction of everyone being dead or shot...thats the work of a degenerate animal. Your all so fucking wrong and the only ones who will back up your silly fantasies are your Doom and Glooming idiot internet friends like Andy the imbecile and the rest of the Loony Tunes club. The world is not that bad you assholes, so stop wishing for an easy way out of your pathetic lives.

Ooooops..... ---- Look like guess who popped out of his hole again.

That is the wierdest "call sign" I've ever seen - but I agree - cold, thirsty, hungry, miserable, and desperate - probably; but I seriously doubt "dead" or "shot".

Next year - if we have no power or no telecom's down in Atlanta proper - play it outside in the afternoon at Georgia Tech Stadium -

Ad revenue, anyone, ? For a game not telecast, hard to fly to, unsafe and uncomfortable to attend?

Mr Cook, good idea. Do you think the Varsity drive-in will be open if the grid is down? Sure would like to have one of their chili dogs and a pile of onion rings.

Couldn't they just save the grease, burn it the next day?

"The Last Super Bowl?"

Wow, that would be great!

Leska,

Melinda's taping it. Last time I think I watched the Super Bowl was when Apple ran the "1984" ad. Sorry guys, but some of us have different interests.

Wish we could send ya all some and chips tho. Enjoy the ads, Leo. (Apple rules!)
