Pentax LX, 120-600 Vivitar zoom lens + Vivitar 2X teleconverter on tripod, Auto exposure with effective aperture opened-up all the way to about f-8. Fuji Velvia 50. The spot is a high spot a few miles SE of Birmingham, AL, on HWY 280. I shot many sunsets there. This is when the sun was all gone and I was finishing-up the roll.

A beautiful image Bahman. What incredible light. I love the colors and their gradation from dark to light on the receding ridge tops.

The words that came to my mind were peaceful and enchanting. The range of tones from the dark but not black bottom to that incredible gold and yellow in the background is spectacular. Great work!

Hi Bahman,

Anyone who views your work should have no doubt that you know exactly what you are doing, but still, what a great job on handling exposure. I count what I see as six different tones in this image.

As Barbara mentioned, the depth / tonal gradation is wonderful. I also like the foreground tree.

A beautiful image, plenty of mood, and good composition. This is one I might hang on the wall. If I had one nit it would be to move the tree a bit to the left by moving the camera a little to the right. Great job.

Definitely an excellent shot. And I too would place the small tree in the foreground a bit further to the left, but that is merely a minor point.
