some Titanic merchandise link I found

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TitanicShack : One Thread

For what it's worth, to answer some of your questions here, I had a search engine take me to a "all Titanic merchandise" site with apparently alot of stuff (or so they say) opening soo. Looks kinda upscale, we shall see. www.webmartdirect.com

I tried the above URL link, and reached a "dead end" page; I'll try back there on February 10th, when the site will become active.

Apparently that news report about the J. Peterman Company filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy is true. The Associated Press has released several news items covering the story. Looks like Peterman has put a freeze on opening new stores, blaming their downturn of business, which looked so promising a year ago, partly on the fact that "Seinfeld" is no longer on prime time and the impeachment hearings. You would think that all the "Titanic" items they sold would have kept them in the black, but their usual exquisite offerings are so expensive that most of us can't afford them. I love looking through their catalog and visiting their store, but there are very few items that I can justify buying!!!

Hmmm. I wonder what the impeachment hearings have to do with the price of tea in China? It's truly incredible how the Republicans are being blamed for everything while Clinton skates, but J. Peterman's poor sales? Even this is a bit of a stretch! Amazing - Kenneth Starr is a "pornographer" and Larry Flint is an "investigative journalist". What a sick, strange world. haha

Kathleen:

Aside from the other reasons, J. Peterman's didn't have any more Titanic merchandise to keep selling. There was a limited supply available, and once they were sold out, that was it.

Apparently, the company has managed to get a loan (from one of their primary creditors) to pay-off their UPS bill and pay their employees until February 12th.
