Well, ladies and gentlemen, we can't relax now. The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission has just released it's Contingency Plan. The bad news just keeps on coming. We, at 'Ontario 2000', are going to have to stress our position of prudent, responsible, personal preparation for possible Y2K disruptions. We don't feel it's in the public's best interest to sooth the citizens now at this late hour. The fearful public will bring on the very results (bank runs and the like) which too-late Y2K remediation has been trying to avoid. Time for you to prepare for all kinds and manner of disruptions, not just electrical power. We'd like to thank all the hard-working, dedicated professionals who've gone above and beyond the call of duty to try to safeguard our power supply. The management and politicians will have to eventually answer to the people. Ontario is not quite 'out of the woods' on the electrical power supply front. What's sourly needed is for those numerous small businesses to remediate their systems and keep your workers employed so the recovery can happen as soon as possible. We expect that this site will be a 'Y2K bad news' site not before too long with questionable remediation reports coming in almost weekly.

Well, Ontario Hydro says they're Y2K 'ready' and most other Canadian power utilities say they're going to make it. Now if we could just keep the poor American's (rich one's are OK) from swarming over the border in the millions when their power goes out, all should be fine. Read about 'the next BIG power generation Y2K 'readiness' tests ahead of time HERE!
