To be honest my first reaction was wow, then slowly i began wanting to see other versions of it. I can't tell if the negative space in the upper left makes me like it or want to see other versions. I guess as in all good art conflict is part of it:-)

Either way nice job, if you have other versions please post it somewhere, if you dont have the space, i can provide it to you.

ps. i keep wondering what this would look like square for some reason.

A beautiful, simple and elegant image. I like the back-lighting on the leaves and, as Mike said, the "repeating motif." The colors are beautiful--I love the delicate red stems. The lack of distracting elements in the background and its color really make this photograph "work."

The colors are also very pleasing. Do you have a version where the edges are not clipped? I think this might look even more pleasant without the cropping, against that nice green background.

I would like to thank everyone for taking the time to share their comments. Your comments have been very helpful and inspiring. I have been out of photography for a while, so I am a bit rusty. But I am really enjoying "celebrating the beauty" again. This is the only image that I made of the red maple seedpods.
