This is a marvelous photograph! I am especially taken by the beautiful gradations of color in the petals of the flower, and the light's play on the various areas of the flower. The framing is excellent, and the overall feel of the photograph is wonderful. I also like the overall color palette you have captured here. The only (tiny) adverse comment I would make is that the background object just behind the highest petal (near the top center of the photograph) is not sufficiently out of focus for me; it seems to intrude slightly when I look at the picture. What film did you take this on, and did you do anything to enhance the lighting, or is this truly a "found" shot?

Details: 80-200/4 near 200 on kodachrome 64; On an otherwise overcast day a few rays of sunlight suddenly came through the clouds and I got of a few frames before the light faded.

This is a truly outstanding photograph for the reasons noted above. Perfection would be if the out of focus object at the top of the bloom were gone. A wonderful image.

A wonderful image, I also I think the bloom behind is distracting. Colors are great. Nice job.

Wow, the colors are gorgeous, and the light on the petals has a luminous quality that is just beautiful! My only (very minor)criticism would also be that the out-of-focus petal is distracting. A wonderful image.

I've never seen such a closeup of the inverted central cone in a lotus flower. It almost looks like Styrofoam. Another "me too" on the wonderful qualities of the image.
