Gold & silver Bouillon coins

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

Can someone please supply me with information on gold & silver bouillon coins.

What I am looking for specifically is how much they are seling for today in the US mint - troy ounce. Is there a web site where I can find out the value of gold & silver on a day to day basis.

Thanks, Matt

Try Affordable Jewelry & Precious Metals, www.ajpm.com

I've purchased from them; the service is excellent, & they have the best prices I've found anywhere. Good web site also, with the price updated every few hours.

Another good one is: www.numismaticproperties.com

Spot price is updated during the day, as are bullion and junk silver prices

I ordered an additional 500 one ounce Liberty Silver Dollars January 4. When you order at least 500 they are drop shipped directly from the mint. My cost was $7.28 per piece. I ordered mine through 1-888-919-GOLD or you can call 1-800-928-6468. Ask for Rick and tell him Mike Kessler sent you. In the past it usually took about 8 businees days to receive them. I still have not received my new shipment. I called to check on them yesterday and I was imformed that they should be shipped in the middle of February. Its my understanding that they have been very short on blanks to mint them, and they have not shipped any 99's yet this year. I feel that this form of silver is the cheapest way to buy. I also feel that there going to be very tough to get by the middle of the year because of the highest demand ever for these coins. To me silver is the way to go for everyday purchases, although I do have 100 Gold eagles for insurance and big ticket purchases in the future.

This doesn't have to do with gold or silver, but I've been buying $500 worth of QUARTERS, on a regular basis. You can't counterfeit QUARTERS. There is the possibility {with the new copy machines around, and no law and order so to speak] that there might be a lot of bogus paper money in circulation. If I can buy anything I would rather have something closer to the exact amount. Hate to give someone a $10 dolar silver coin and not get any change, when a couple of QUARTERS would have been enough. QUARTERS come boxed in $500 boxs. The tellers don"t even look at me twice with my request.

Yes I did along with some real insurance which I put into a sealed piece of pvc pipe. Wrapped it up in a oiled cloth first.

Thinkican, Where is the value in todays junk metal guarters. Just a little silver plate to make them look good. Get silver if you can! If tshtf then people will want tangible goods for exchange. Silver and gold are tangible, paper money and junk coins are not. Remember that your dollar is only as good as the digits in the banking computers, no digits no money. And we laughed at wampum?
