Hi Rose-Marie,

I like this a lot. A nice sharp dragonfly (perhaps a Rusty Skimmer? Anyone?), with flawless wings and everything important in focus. I really like the way you cut the image precisely in half with its perch. I wish the background were one shade or the other (I like the lighter lavender). If you had tried to get just one shade, I'll bet you'd have lost the perfect depth-of-field achieved here. (The wings and body wouldn't be parallel to the film plane.) Anyway, it is very enjoyable as it is.

Regards,

Rose-Marie, Nice capturing of the iridescent wings. I like the muted, pastel colors in the background--they go with dragonfly, whose wings seem to have a lavender hue to them. I think I might crop a bit off on the right, just to the left of the pinkish blob. IMO this helps focus in on the dragonfly.
