Best Printer for Nikon Coolpix 900 pics??

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Imaging Resource Discussion : One Thread

I just got the Nikon Coolpix 900. Can anyone recommend the BEST printer for printing digital pictures? I know opinions may vary, but if you could give me yours, I'd sure appreciate it! THANKS in advance! -Jody

I bought a CP900 and tried printing on my HP670C. Results fair but not as advertised. Bought an HP890C with RET technology. Results better but still not good enough. Bought an HP Photo Smart Photo Printer and the results are spectactular. You really can't tell the prints from silver halide prints. (I do not work for HP as you might think.)

I've had my 900s for a month. I print (via QImage Pro) on my Epson Stylus Color 800. Using the right paper, the results are spectacular! There are newer Epson models, which I imagine are even better.

Good luck.

If you only print photos I would recommend the EPSON Stylus Photo 700 (new) or the EPSON 740. The 700 got 6 tanks but the colors vanish soon. The 740 is almost as good in photo printing (you need a very close look for seeing the difference) but the colors won't vanish as soon as with a Photo 700. There is now available a Photo 750 Printer, but I didn't read any test till today. If you print a lot of text and graphics and only sometimes some photos HP Printers like 895 are the better choice, because the ink costs per page are lower (more capacity), but photo quality isnt as spectacular as with the mentioned Epson
