You have captured the peaceful soul of the subject. This is a very nice image. Thanks for sharing.

The different shades give a feeling of depth.

I would like ot hear some tech data on this one. I think there is a very narrow exposure window on this shot and I am not sure you hit it just right. Of course this is all personal perference but I would like to see 1/3 to 1/2 of a stop less in the sky. The trick, of course would be to keep some detail in the foreground trees. I find that I like the image better if 5-10% is cropped from the top so there is less space between the backround hills and the edge of the frame.

Cleeo,

Tech. info. EOS 1n, 70-200/2.8L, tripod, Velvia (40) exposure unrecorded but it was about a second at F8. This shot was 2/3 of a stop under-exposed. The shot metered for the trees washed out the subtle mauve colors in the sky and on the horizon. I have both and far prefer this shot even though the detail is lost in the near trees. Actually on the slide it is not quite so dark. The object was to try to capture the peacefulness of the scene with the subtle colors. BTW cropping 5-10% from the top does improve it slightly, thanks.

Thanks for the info Bill. You did a great job capturing this image. I'm ipressed with the detail in the trees considering that fact that you used Velvia. I rarely use it because I have such a hard time getting shaddow detail. The pastel colors are beautiful.

Very nice shot with beautiful colors. I would use a graduated neutral density filter to get more details in the foreground though.

The incredible hues of pink and blue succeed in imparting that peaceful feeling. One can look at this one for a long while. Great work!
