Who was the lone congressional member who stood up and clapped about the y2k issue in the speech last night?

....and WHY didn't the camera show him?
-- Sheila (firstname.lastname@example.org), January 20, 1999.
I think it was Custer!

Wish I knew - probably Bennet.

Happy Face Koskinen.

It might have been Connie Morella (sp?), it seems that the camera panned to her right before he made the comment on y2k. She was the head of the Congressional Subcommitte on Technology if I'm not mistaken.

Can anyone confirm this - I'd really like to know...

I watched the speech on CSPAN and they did show the single person who applauded. I've been searching the house and senate web pages trying to match up the face I remember from TV with a photo on one of the pages. I'm pretty sure it was Representative Stephen Horn of California. He's the chairman of the House of Representative's task force on the Year 2000 problem.
Here's his web page: www.house.gov/horn/

We'll see what he says....

It was Connie Morell (R-MD) as indicated in prior posting and confirmation from the Senate Y2K Committee in my email today.

You can see CNN's video of Clinton's Y2K remarks at this link...
Just click on the image of Clinton and let it buffer. Is Connie Morella the woman in the blue dress?
