Cat

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Maine Coon Cats : One Thread

I just adopted a cat from our animal shelter about 3 days ago. He was listed as a Maine Coon approx. 6 yrs old in good health. He seems to have the characteristics of a Maine Coon. He is very affection but I am worried because he sleeps all of the time and seems rather lathargic. He also has very little appetite. Could this just be an adjustment time for him or should I be concerned?

Mary, What you describe could be perfectly normal. It could also be indicative of a health problem. I think it is always a good idea to take a new pet in to see the Vet.

I have a rescue Siamese cross that I brought home from some apartments. She had no adjustment period, she was at home from day one. I had a cat that I got from the SPCA, she was an adult & took a full two weeks to settle in, we hardly saw her. (she fell in love with my grown son & threw me over. My MC was affectionate, but, jumpy for the first couple of weeks.

Good luck & enjoy! Pam
