An excellent shot Greg. How about some tech data (camera, lens, film, etc) You must have waited a while for this lineup.

Excellent shot and focus. Picking nits, but the shot would be better if it didn't cut so close on the bottom.

Very interesting pose. One can only imagine the patience involved in getting the shot. I love the contrast in neck colour between these two (I presume male and female).

tech stuff: eos5, 300m w/2x converter, tripod, kodak e100sw shot wide open (f8) at about 1/350- i have been shooting a lot of great and snowy egrets lately so i am learning to estimate the amount of underexposure necessary for a given lighting situation- very tricky! about the lack of room on the bottom and left- this was one of those situations where i was a bit too close for 600mm and too far for 300mm. i took great care in moving forward verrry slowly- over a period of about 45 minutes i managed to get within about 50 feet, and then it was a matter of waiting for something more than just 'a nice portrait' to present itself. another problem was that seagulls tended to land right in front of the bird i was trying to shoot. also- there was only one pelican that had the beuatiful black/red/white neck- the others were less colorful- so that made it easier to pick what to shoot.

Great shot, Greg. The contrast in facial color pattern between these two is fantastic. Looks very sharp for a teleconverter shot, as well.
