Local Media: Getting It (little by little)greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread |
Local rag (San Diego Union-Tribune) had a couple of Y2K items *better than usual.)Business page headline: "Oil's Y2K Gap Shows". Chart showing range of months that various oil producers are lagging behind the US in Y2K remediation. Ugly numbers, which should help a few more yuppies and PHMs to look up and see that WAVE headed this way.
Also a comment in Arianna Huffington's syndicated column on inquiries into public figure's sex lives. First answer suggested when inquiries are made: "You should be talking about Y-2-K instead of S-E-X."
As Cory H. has said: The herd is sniffing the wind...
On a personal note: my wife now absolutely Gets It, as does my mother-in-law. Still time to improve and implement contingencies.
Got wheat?

Thanks, Mac. Little signs indicating we may get beyond the devastating ridicule-fest of last week's media, which was a backlash to the serious articles around 1/1/1999. When will local media have the courage to step away from the spin-du-jeer and take a good hard look into their own backyard? "It's local." Mac, congrats on your family's GI status :)xxxxxxx xxxxxxx xxxx
