Do folks other than tourists wear Hawaiian shirts in Hawaii? And why is it called a Hawaiian shirt anyway? Is it the sure sign of the tourist to wear one?

All the men wear Aloha shirts and the women muumuus. The tourist tend to wear the cheap ones since they figure they won't be wearing them anymore so that's how you spot them. The locals buy the name brands which run about $55-$95 for a shirt and $100-$300 for a muumuu. A sure sign someone's a tourist is to wear a suit and tie. Actually, that's how you know someone from Xerox or IBM or Microsoft is coming to give you a sales pitch 8-)
