Listening to the radio on the way home, I heard an ad by a local Heating and Air Conditioning Company. They stated flatly that all their systems they had ever installed and were now installing were wholly without problems related to the Year 2000 bug. The stampede has started - expect a flood of advertisments soon announcing Y2K compliance for all sorts of things - including many that have no date relationship whatsoever. (Midnight gloss lipstick goes on smoothly - now and in the Year 2000) It is going to be an interesting year.

Yeah, the bullshit will be flowing all over the place until Judgement Day Jan. 1, 2000. I think we will hear more lies this year than in a lifetimes' worth of Presidential Campaigns!

Problem is they can pretty much say whatever they want and not be held liable, thanks to the governments' "good samaritan law".

I found this one particularly cute:

UNIDYNE and its other subsidiaries has overcome the Year 2000 obstacle."

"OVERCOME"??? Get real!! They aren't even finished yet! I'll check in with them around Jan. 3 and see how "overcome" they are!
