Contract For Grade asked in the M.Ed./Extension Forums at UMD Q&A Forum -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- CONTRACT FOR GRADE Clark B. Montgomery M.Ed. Extension cohort I would like to contract for an A in the course. I will meet all of the C requirements and complete two projects for the A contract.

The two designated projects will be:

1) A summary of my involvement with Sue Damme and the Extension Staff Development Team regarding Diversity Education and Training for Minnesota Extension Service staff. My involvement requires participation in the planning and organization of the transferal learning pilot program Creating Community in the Face of Diversity, scheduled for delivery in Minnesota the week of March 15, 1999. Information and observation, regarding the involved/unique educational methods and the reaction (evaluation) of participants, will be written, summarized and presented via ITV during a regular class meeting.

2) A written summary of my involvement with the cohort group working with Sue Damme on Early Career Orientation for new Extension Educators. I will interview Early Career participants from previous training sessions to determine what training objectives would better satisfy information and learning needs during upcoming training sessions. I will participate, as a facilitator and presenter, during the January 25-27, 1999 Early Career Training Session conducted in Alexandria, MN. This will also require participation in: planning, preparation of materials, facilitation and presentation of sessions, and the evaluation process.

Excellent ways to synthesize your learning in many areas into tangible projects. Thank you! Maybe you've already found enough about diversity for the March project, but I'm wondering if you plan to use any of James Banks, Carl Grant, or Christine Sleeter's work in the areas of diversity? They've all done very notable work in that area.
