Aloha,

My husband and I are planning to purchase a 1-bedroom apartment in Waikiki to use as a vacation rental. My question is ... do most people prefer to rent a place with ocean view or view of the Koolau mountain range and the Ala Wai? I'm about equal on the views, I love them both. Thanks for any input you might have.

For me, it'd depend on whether I was closer to the mountain or the ocean. It would be a bummer to have an ocean or mountain view, but right in the middle of it it another hotel or condo 8((( If i had a choice of either or, I'd take the ocean. Want to see a view of what it'd look like if you were closer to the Ala Moana side of Waikiki? Take a look at the surf live cam at (http://www.surfline.com/ livesouth/south.htm). Remember it's live so you need to figure out the time difference. 5 hours from the east coast, 3 from mountain, and 2 from west coast.
