Prairie Falcon, Bear River Bird Refuge, Northern Utah

This falcon was popping in and out of the area all day just dying for me to take his pic. I just wish they all were this cooperative. Nikon N90s, Nikkor 400mm f3.5, TC301 2x convertor, SB26 flash and extender, Gitzo 410 tripod and studioball head, lots of camo and little motion!!!

I hope this works, if it's the right bird: very nice !

P.S. it's hard to tell wether that left eye is in sharp focus...

Nice job Cory. How close to you think you were?

Thanks, I was using my 400 and 2x on several small birds in the area when this guy came swooping in and landed about 20 feet away on a post. 2 quick shots was all he would allow before the motor drive "drove" him away.....

The light seems very flat and dull. I don't see even the hint of a shadow anywhere.
