I virtually lived at McSorley's Old Ale House for a few years back in the mid-1980's. Two mugs of dark for $1.50. Cheese, crackers & onions with plenty of that hot, brown mustard. Sawdust on the floors. No hard liquor.

Oh my!

Psorry, But I did live there early 60's thru 76. LOVED IT!!!!!!!!!!!! NO place like the BIG APPLE 8:) Usta hang @ original TGIFridays on the East Side. Also a place owned by Skitch Henderson, the Tonite Show bandleader extrodinaire for the original host: Steve Allen. This was Daily's Dandeloin at 61st St and 3rd Av. Outrageous Bacon Cheesburgers and Pecan Pie (w/ wipped cream), They had their beef custom ground; cooked there within eyesight! We knew the cook, great guy, black man, always a big howdy, and a great smile, and man, could he cook!!! Great bartenders, personable, knew you, bought every second (or third) drink, great clientel, ... FUN!

"Course, that was then...."
