urinary problems

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Maine Coon Cats : One Thread

We were given a spayed female approx. 4 yrs old. She is using the litter box every 10 ro 15 min. She's straining when she does. We suspect a urinary infection. Looking for a homeopathic remedy since we cannot afford a vet. Thanks

I would strongly suggest that you have your cat examined. If she has any sort of urinary blockage it is deadly and time is of the essence. If she is experiencing pain with urination, etc.

Homeopathic remedies are not a substitute for science and antibiodics. Even if it is just an infection it may not clear up "by itself".

You can put her on Hills CD low magnesium food (available from vets)which will help correct the PH in her system and help eliminate problems in the future, but it will not cure the problem.

Don't mean to alarm you but like any living thing, pets require medical attention from time to time, it's part of being a pet owner. your animal is in discomfort and it may get worse.
