xtol developing temp with delta

greenspun.com : LUSENET : B&W Photo - Film & Processing : One Thread

When using xtol with the delta films is it best to use the higher temperature as sujested with the t-max developer and films. I would prefer to stay with 68 deg as that is the temperature my darkroom stays at. I realize that I would need to compensate for the temperature difference but my question is what effect will it have ,if any, on the quality of the negative.

Thanks

I've never seen any reason to use higher temperatures other than to keep development times short, if that's what's desired. And if you're using Xtol 1:2 times can get rather long compared to many other developers.
