Simple question.... Why is the Plumeria flower considered the Funeral/Cemetary flower?Thanks in advance!

One story that I have heard is that oldtimers call plumerias the graveyard flower or the "ma-ke man's flower" because plumeria is planted so abundantly in cemeteries.
