Are most of us going to die?

One thing I know about Gary North: My Partners followed his investment advice and made tens of millions of dollars. He tends to do his homework and has a fascinating understanding of human dynamics. Ignoring his conclusions could be harmful to your life.

We all die, it is the nature of the beast.

Re: GN? being right? depends on what you are talking about. His 10 on a 10 scale? Yes. His reformist Xtian slant? Not for me, but might be for someone else.

His greatest shortcoming? He is caught in "End Times" dialog, and therefore isn't using his site as a means to promulgate the concept and examples of lifestyles which are simply harmonious and in balance with the Earth and between each other.

I don't agree with everything GN says or teaches, but there are two basic questions:

1) If he's WRONG about the Y2chaos but you DO prepare to some degree as he suggests, what's the worst outcome for you?

2) If he's RIGHT and you DON'T prepare to some degree, what's the worst that can happen to you?

Except for those who sell it all and head for the hills (I'm not one of 'em) the people who lay in extra food, cash and fuel will have less to buy in '00 if nothing serious happens. If the brown stuff hits the fan, those who have done nothing will have just that. I like my odds better!

Not about his religious "reconstructionist" view of the future...that to me would be WORSE than what we now have.

If GN was the ONLY person "prophesying" Y2K, I would pay no attention at all. He isn't.

Gary North has been an active prognosticator for over 20 years. He has predicted the end of the world on multiple occasions. Previous causes have included nuclear war, a global banking collapse and AIDS. Nr. North is a proponent of Christian Reconstructionism. This theology supports the overthrow of our constitutional republic and the formation of a new theocracy of Mosaic law. A prolific author, you can read the actual predictions and theology or glean excerpts from the Internet. In summary, Mr. North is using Y2K as his next apocalyptic crisis. He does not care about technology, or resolving the problem. He simply wants an opportunity to implement his theocratic government... a brave new world where sinners are stoned in accordance with Old Testament law. Anyone who claims they have made "ten of millions" investing on his advice is, without doubt, lying.
